Privacy First: Where Does Your Data Go?
When people hear “AI in healthcare,” they often imagine robot doctors or supercomputers doing all the work. In reality, a lot of it is about analyzing data — your health records, wearables, scans, etc. That’s why privacy is a big concern.
In the U.S., healthcare providers must follow HIPAA to protect your health information. But with AI tools joining the mix, there’s extra pressure to stay transparent and safe. In fact, research on AI ethics in medicine emphasizes that privacy, consent, and accountability must be front and center.
Always feel free to ask your provider: How is my data stored? Who sees it? That’s your right.
Can We Trust the Algorithms?
Here’s a truth: AI is only as good as the data it’s fed. If that data is incomplete or biased, the results can be skewed. Researchers have already noticed cases where AI health predictions show bias.
So AI shouldn’t make final calls — it should inform decisions. Think of it like a smart assistant: helpful for spotting patterns or red flags, but your chiropractor (or any trusted provider) is still the judge, jury, and guide in your care.
The Human Side of Healing
Let’s be real: no machine can replace the power of genuine human connection. AI can’t look you in the eyes, hear your story, sense your energy, or adjust mid-session based on what your body feels.
Even as AI gains traction, studies and expert voices indicate that patients still value empathy, trust, and in-person interactions above all. According to Harvard Health, AI can enhance healthcare, but it can’t replace the heart of healing.
There are valid concerns around AI, but yes — it can be trusted when used responsibly, transparently, and always paired with human oversight.
As a patient, you don’t need to become a tech expert. Just remember: AI is a tool — never a substitute. Your chiropractor (that’s me!) is still here to listen, interpret, adjust, and care.
